Hebrews 11:1 lets us know that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. If something is visible and can be easily accessed, faith is simply not involved. The Greek word for faith here is “pistis” and it simply means persuasion or moral conviction. When a person is persuaded, there is hardly ever anything that can change their mind.
Have you ever been to a courtroom where a person is found guilty and yet, instead of the judge sentencing them to a number of years in prison or giving them any sort of punishment, this person is told to do a certain thing that would prevent the person from serving any sort of punishment. Weird right? It doesn’t happen because you can only be set free when you’re not found guilty.
As Christians, do we love all our neighbours or just some of them? Do we love even those who have hurt us or only nice people?
Hey folks! It’s been a while and I’m happy to be back, I needed a break and in all honesty, I’m still taking that break. I’m hopping in for a while and I’ll be back by the end of the month, hopefully. We’ll be talking about the differences between attendance and fellowship… Attendance So let’s dive straight in to today’s topic. In my school, attendance is something taken very very …
Here comes the finalllll! We made it to Romans 16 commentary!?? This is going to be the shortest entry so far but I want you to learn from it still. Let’s go…??♀️??♀️ 16:1– Phoebe was the woman who delivered Paul’s letter to the Romans. She was highly commended by him. 16:1-15– These verses consist of a list of people who received Paul’s greetings in Rome. They were both Jews and …
Yet again, we would discuss Romans 15 which talks about the weak brother and the strong brother Romans 15:1-2– In Chapter 14, Paul encourages the strong to bear the scruples(weaknesses) of the weak. He says the strong should please the weak but for edification purposes. He didn’t mean please others and displease God, but please others in such a way that aids spiritual growth. In Chapter 14:15-17, Paul tells us …
Romans 14 emphasises on spiritual growth as do other chapters Romans 14:1– Paul says we should receive believers who are weak in faith. The Greek word for “weak” is “astheneō” and could refer to physical or spiritual weakness. The next two words let us know which one Paul was referring to, “in faith”, so it’s a spiritual weakness, just like the one spoken of in Romans 8:26. The weak ones …
The beauty of the Gospel- Romans 10 Romans 10:1– Paul kept praying for the salvation of the Jews, not because they did not know God but they put their trust in themselves and in the law, just as we saw in Romans 9. Romans 10:2– The Jews had a zeal of God, which was well-known but it wasn’t according to knowledge. Zeal, in itself, is not bad but it isn’t …
The True Mediator- Have you ever wondered where you’d end up after dying? If you asked me that some years ago, my answer would have been, ‘I don’t know mehn. With the way things are, I might go to hell.’ Tragic! I wasn’t comfortable with this fact, in fact, I was helpless. I had no idea what to do or where to turn, you know. Don’t get me wrong, I …
Last week, we spoke about Christian singles and now, we’ll be talking about Christians in a dating relationship. I love me a topic like this lol. In the previous post, I mentioned that you’re still single until you get married, which is not a contradiction to this because, in fact, some of these things still apply to dating Christians. Before Getting Into a Relationship, Consider These Facts: The first thing …
Disclaimer: This post is about people who are Christian and single. You might find some things uncomfortable but read anyway… Much love. Being Christian and single can be really tiring, very tiring actually. And impatience is a very common trait with singleness and the popular question, “God when?”. Let me quickly state that a boyfriend/girlfriend wouldn’t fall from the sky while you stay indoors all day. Now you’d say, “I …
The right way to express love was shown to us by Christ. Question: What if Christ only came to earth to say “I love you” and then He just ascended right back up to heaven? Would we truly understand? Pause. Don’t answer yet. As Christians, we tend to live our lives with more of a ‘mind your business’ attitude, which is totally fine. But! If the person who talked to …
Are you feeding on the word of God? Many times we would have heard this, What you feed is what grows. OR You are what you eat. I’m here to tell you that it’s very true. As a Christian, the times you spend not praying or studying are the times you’re most vulnerable. You might not want to hear it but it’s true. It’s easier to fall into temptation at …
Let it go. This phrase is used most times to let go of anxiety and it’s true. Let me give a little behind the scenes gist, I put up 2 posts today because I was led to. None of them were in the initial plan, it was meant to be something different but somewhat related. Yesterday, I lay down on my bed and God kept reassuring His love for me, …
New Year is fasting time!!! Hello guys! Hope you’re doing well? 2019 has been good so far and surprisingly fast. This time last year, I had only just started understanding of salvation and I’m so so grateful for growth. In most churches and Christian communities, this is a season of prayer and fasting, basically to prepare for the year and to strengthen themselves. This post is to help expatiate the …
Agape- The greatest kind of love LOVE:The basis of all existenceThe essence of our salvationThe One who lives withinFills our lungsAnd causes us to breathe forever.-Anesii I was going to write this post yesterday, I was charged up and all but when it was time to put pen to paper, I got stuck. (Oh yea! I normally write down stuff on paper before typing lol. Moving on…)So I watched a …
I never really grew up with an understanding of salvation. I, for real, didn’t even know what it was until a while back, like earlier this year. And thank God for giving me the grace to understand it.It took a while but I was intentional about knowing. And I hope I’m able to help as many that may not be getting it right. What does it mean to be saved? …
I once read about the importance of having a quote in your post so I’ll be beginning this post with one about love. “Thou shalt love the Lord they God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself” – Jesus Christ. A lot …
Lately, I’ve been listening to messages from Pastor Michael Todd of Transformation Church and boy, are they amazing!Sound doctrine all over and he preaches really well, in my opinion. One series I was engaged in is titled ‘Inner Circle’. It contains three messages and if you can lay your hands on them, you should surely listen, you can get them on YouTube anyway. The three messages spoke to me on …
Dating Intelligently had me screaming ‘Yassss’ in my head as I read it, I agreed with it on so many levels and I learned from it too. You have to be whole before you become one with someone , half and half don’t make a whole in the Bible way. 1+1 make a whole. You have to be complete in Christ before being with another who is also complete in …
Becoming a Spectacular Woman taught me so muchc This is coming in rather too late, I read this in March but better late than never, yes?So yea, this book is simply amazingggg. Every word, every sentence, every page. It helped me a lot when I was struggling with letting go and letting God. It spoke to me, God was basically teaching me through this book. From the first chapter titled …
Surrender. To yield oneself to an influence, emotion, passion, etc.Submission to the possession of another. Something I called “letting go”. Surrender… something I always found so difficult to do because I felt it wasn’t part of my settings. I did not understand the process and I let it affect my relationship with God. I was literally scared of letting go or surrendering. It made me feel down, I felt I wasn’t …
